Your role

As an Acroyoga Community Guide, you ensure the jam stays safe, joyful and welcoming. You move through the space, notice what’s happening and step in where needed. You help people grow and feel welcome.

What you do

🛡️ Safety

• Continuously observes the space and group dynamics

• Spots where needed and gives clear instructions

• Steps in during risks or unsafe situations

• Raises awareness around safety, consent and spotting

🧠 Support & conflict mediation

• Offers a listening ear to community members

• Detects tensions and unwanted behaviour early

• Mediates conflicts in a calm and respectful manner

• Provides aftercare and support following incidents and accidents

🔗 Contacts & communication

• Fosters connections within the own community

• Maintains contacts with other acroyoga communities

• Manages relationships with stakeholders such as park managers, venue managers and relevant authorities

🤝 Community building

• Actively approaches new people and connects groups

• Helps beginners find their way and lowers barriers

• Ensures everyone feels seen and welcome

🧩 Flow facilitation

• Helps form groups and find partners

• Supports with explanations or demos when needed

• Reads the energy and steers subtly

📣 Outreach & growth

• Approaches interested bystanders and spectators

• Answers questions and invites people to join

• Refers to community channels such as WhatsApp

💬 Community management

• Moderates the WhatsApp group and removes off-topic messages

• Addresses members on behaviour when needed

• Posts and upholds reminders of the informal code of conduct

• Organises physical meetings when needed or desired, chairs them and monitors follow-up

🤲 Supporting the Lead Facilitator

• Assists with setup and organisation of the space

• Follows the direction and vision of the lead

• Strengthens the overall quality of the jam

Who you are

• You have experience with acroyoga

• You know your boundaries and respect those of others

• You communicate openly and clearly

• You have a good feel for group dynamics

• You are proactive and approachable

• You contribute to a safe and inclusive atmosphere

• You are trauma-sensitive

• You are primarily at home in the role of guide, but when the community needs it, you can step up as a leader who shows decisiveness and dares to make decisions
